Introduction about my Page

Get a glimpse of the topics I will be discussing and why I made this page

Hello! Welcome to my very first post. I'm very new to this kind of stuff and have never published my writing to anyone before. The only people who have really read or seen my writing are my parents for their birthdays or my teachers, who rip it apart. Anyway, that's beside the point. Why have I come to write on this fantastic platform today? What inspired me? What will I be talking about? Who am I? I know that you're asking a bunch of questions. So, let's get into it.

My name is Fritz Desir, and I'm an 18-year-old kid born and raised in the heart of New York City. I'm attending the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and love to play basketball and hang out with friends. Now, it doesn't seem right that a kid who has never been interested in writing is deciding to make a newsletter. Well, growing up, my dad always said I had a unique talent in my writing. I'm not necessarily saying it was good, but he explained that he could feel all the emotions in my heart when I wrote. It was interesting, being that I had always loved to speak. I'm a pretty outgoing character, and any time I'm given a chance to say anything, I do. So why was my writing any different? I never really got the opportunity to ask my dad that question, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I was initially inspired by a YouTuber by the name of Ali Abdul (a fantastic YouTuber), who was talking about six side hustles that anyone can start in 2023. Of course, being a broke college student, I figured it couldn't hurt. But when reviewing the entire video, nothing really clicked for me. I knew about the classic methods like day trading and drop shipping, but I wanted to find something that was creative, something that gave me a voice. So, when I re-watched the video, I gravitated towards this fantastic platform. He said it would allow me to write and reach an audience with no real hassle, and he was correct. I set up the page in minutes and was already writing. It was so effortless. Of course, he did mention the monetization, but I wasn't really interested in that. I think what really made me so interested was the fact that I was able to talk about topics without the need for a camera or editing software. I could write words on the paper, and BAM, people saw it (hopefully). So, what is the actual purpose of this page?

So, growing up, I've always been interested in talking about people. How people interact, what motivates people, what prompts people to do certain things, stuff like that. In school, I never got the chance to take a sociology or psychology class. I really learned about it from the books I read. From Thinking Fast and Slow to 1987 it gave me a perspective about how humans influence the world and each other. Now I know that doesn't really sound specific, but in essence, it is. What I want to accomplish with this page is talking about motivational stuff. The important stuff that life truly has to offer. It's not the newest TikTok or the latest trend. I want to talk about relationships, the troubles of being a black man in today's society, the struggles of going through loss, and how to be a better person to your friends and family. I want to talk about all these topics through my lens, the lens of an 18-year-old boy who is still learning about the world around him. Now, I don't want to be controversial in writing; I just want to have a conversation and be able to build a platform that helps people out there. That's my job, and hopefully, I can have fun doing it.

Welcome to "Elevating your Perspective" with your host, Fritz Desir.
